Adding a client site
-
I am trying to add a client site that I manage however I cannot log in using a username and password I created. WordPress.com keeps sending a link to the client’s email address to log in when I put in the client’s email address as the username. Alternatively, I tried to add a site and it only gives me options to transfer a domain or map a domain. I did not have to do either of these with my own website, so I’m not sure what steps to take next. Please advise. The domain I am trying to add is elevebeautyboutique.com.

Hi there!
I’m afraid that this site is not hosted with WordPress.com. It is a site using the open-source WordPress software (from WordPress.org) but hosted with Bluehost.
Because WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two entirely separate entities, we cannot access files or data for sites hosted elsewhere; we can only assist with sites hosted on our servers. You can read more about the differences between WordPress.org software and WordPress.com here:
https://wordpress.com/support/com-vs-org/.You can look for help at the community forums here: https://wordpress.org/support/forums/.
http://wordpress.org/support/ is also a great resource for sites using the open-source WordPress.org software.

Hi fresatomica, thank you for responding. So, I think I’m confused. You are correct that my domain is hosting with BlueHost but I access the WP admin panel (wordpress.org I assume?) by logging into wordpress.com. So, while wordpress.com and wordpress.org are two separate entities I am using one to access the other. Can you clarify?

Ok, to add elevebeautyboutique.com to your profile here so it can be managed on WordPress.com, you’ll need to install, activate, and connect the Jetpack plugin: https://jetpack.com/support/getting-started-with-jetpack/
As for logging in to that site now, you’ll do that through https://elevebeautyboutique.com/wp-login.php
