Adding a custom domain

  I am trying to figure out if I need to pay for the entry level plan to add a custom domain. I already have one custom domain hosted through Siteground, dirtoncollege.com, and I am trying to setup the same thing with dirtonsports.com. I don’t have a record of paying anything to setup dirtoncollege.com with wordpress but it was a few months ago so I might have the 2.99 plan on that domain. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

  Hi there,

  Yes, you’ll need a mapping subscription if you want to use dirtonsports.com with your WordPress.com site. The Personal Plan will be perfect for what you’re wanting.

  In order to use your domain hosted elsewhere with your WordPress.com site, you’ll need to change the domain nameservers at your domain host, and point them over to WordPress.com. Our nameservers are:

  NS1.WORDPRESS.COM
  NS2.WORDPRESS.COM
  NS3.WORDPRESS.COM

  Then, you’ll need to purchase the mapping subscription upgrade so that you can map your domain over to your WordPress.com site.
