Adding a printable pattern to a post?

  Hi, sorry to bother you.
  I’m wanting to add an attachment to a blog post, that any readers can print out.
  It is a pattern piece, so would need to be printed to the right scale, from a pdf file.

  How can I do it?

  Uploading file on your WordPress.com site only allows you to insert a download link to a file. If you wish to embed the actual document into a post or page, you can use external services such as Scribd or Slideshare.

  I’m not sure what you mean by embed a document?
  Why would I want or need to do this?

  Embedding a document will enclose the file into the post or page otherwise it’ll be a link instead.

  If you simply want to post a link to a PDF file you can follow the instructions at http://en.support.wordpress.com/uploading-documents/ on how to upload documents.

  OK,
  Thanks again for getting back to me.
  I’m a bit slow when it comes to technology.
  What I want to do is, attach an A4 printable pattern, that I have scanned into my computer and then saved.

  You can save your document as a PDF file, and then upload and link to it using the instructions Karim provided:
