Adding Current Date and Time via HTML widget
-
I want to add the current date and time on the sidebar. I am using the free version of WordPress on a Mac. Is there any way to do so? Many thanks.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

This is the wrong website. But I deleted it. The question I still have issues with. Thanks!

Hi there,
Do you already have the data/time device you want to add? If so, you can use a text widget to add that to your sidebar, as text widgets accept html:

However, there is certain code that we do not accept due to security reasons. Please visit our support page for tags/code that we do not allow:

Hello!
It’s not a set time. I want it to show the time as someone visits it.
For example, if a visitor went to my webpage at 12:00PM, I would like it to say 12:00PM.
Thanks!

Also, HTML would work, but any widget could do. I just figured that you could code that way. I am new to this (I bet it is apparent)

Thanks for the clarification. So, you could build a clock with html. That’s not really something we can assist you with, though. You’d need to find some online resources to help you sort that out. The HTML can be added to the custom widget: https://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/custom-html-widget/
Most folks will be able to see the date and time from their browsers automatically when they visit your site too. For example, on a Mac, it’s in the menu bar.
