Adding Custom Themes
-
Hello,
Im going to be a future client with you guys and purchase a domain name with you among other things. My plan is to purchase a custom theme from http://www.themeforest.net. Now if i understand correctly if i get a theme that is software version compatible with wordpress I can just go into my wordpress themes section and upload a theme myself. Once i am there tho it asks me for a business plan and to upgrade. If i want to use a custome theme that I am uploading am I forced to upgrade to a personal, premium or business plan? From what I understand yes i do. If so then I can just upload my compatible theme and use wordpress as an admin for my website correct?
Hope you can clear this up for me and also if I use this theme im linking you with, can you show me what to look for the options to make sure its compatible to upload to wordpress?

Hi there,
There are two versions of WordPress. WordPress.com, and the self-hosted version of WordPress, called WordPress.org. Themeforest themes are designed for the self-hosted version, where you download the WordPress software and install in on your own server or at a hosting provider.
You can find out more about self-hosted WordPress here:
On WordPress.com you only have the ability to use third-party themes like that if you upgrade to the WordPress.com Business Plan at $299 a year. On the free, Personal and Premium plans, you can still use any of the themes appearing in our theme showcase:
Also see here for more information on this:
