Adding existing WordPress.com blog
-
Hi, I’ve got the domain http://hammockphotography.wordpress.com, but it is not showing in my domains under Store|Domains and when I navigate directly to this site, it is not connected to my actual domain hammockphotography.com or hammockphoto.com. If I try to “Add a Domain”, I get the error “That hostname cannot be added to this blog.”
Is there a way to connect the wordpress.com site to the actual site?

Hi there,
You have three blogs under your account, one of them is http://hammockphoto.wordpress.com and another is http://hammockphotography.wordpress.com.
http://hammockphoto.wordpress.com has the domain mapping upgrades associated with it. You can see the domain names mapped to it here: https://hammockphoto.wordpress.com/wp-admin/paid-upgrades.php?page=domains (hammockphoto.com and hammockphotography.com)
http://hammockphotography.wordpress.com does not have any domain names associated with it. What are your plans with this blog? You can choose to set it to private under Settings > Reading if you don’t intend to use it right away. You can also set up a Site Redirect so that visitors to hammockphotography.wordpress.com are sent to hammockphoto.com. You can purchase the Site Redirect under Store > Upgrades.
Let me know if you have any further questions!

Thanks Jenia. I really don’t intend to use any of the specific names
http://hammockphotography.wordpress.com
http://hammockphoto.wordpress.com
http://hammockphoto.comHowever, I want my primary site to be http://hammockphotography.com and any traffic the remain 3 sites receive to be redirected to this site. In the future, if I decide to let the domain name laps, I still want http://hammockphotography.wordpress.com and http://hammockphoto.wordpress.com to be tied together with http://hammockphotography.wordpress.com being primary.

Ok, there is no way to tied the separate WordPress.com blog URLs together.
You could choose one to be primary with the domain on it, which you have done. For the rest, you’ll need a Site Redirect upgrade for each: http://en.support.wordpress.com/site-redirect/
Alternatively, you could just publish a “we’ve moved” post on the others.

Thanks again for all the help. I now that http://hammockphotography.wordpress.com redirected to http://hammockphotography.com. I’m assuming I can’t get all 4 domains to show up on my hammockphotography.com domain dashboard page?
