We have been using our paid WordPress account for a business blog and I would now like to bring my free blog into that account. Is that possible and how can I do that? Thank you for your help. Nina @ Ruby for Women and mamas*little*treasures

I do not know what you mean by “paid account”. Here at WordPress.com all blogs are free hosted. We can purchase upgrades but that does not create such a thing as “a pid account”. If you are referring to a WordPress.ORG install then know that the two sites are completely separate and run on different software. If you want to embed a free hosted WordPress.com blog into a WordPress.ORG install that’s not possible.

Pleas post again and clarify what it is that you want to do and provide the URLs starting with http:// for the blogs in question.

Hi and thank you so much for your quick response! OK let me explain a bit more: I originally set up my personal blog at http://www.mamaslittletreasures.wordpress.com back in 2008. I then got busy with other projects and did not do much with that blog, so it has just been sitting there and I would like to pick it up again.

Then, in early 2010, I created a blog for which we pay a monthly fee at http://www.rubyforwomen.com which is also a WordPress blog. Now I would like to have them both on my paid account under Ruby for Women . . . . so I am just trying to figure out if that is possible, or if I want to use my personal blog for business purposes if I have to set up another account that I pay for.

My understanding is that if I use my free WordPress blog for any type of business / marketing / promotional activities, that it is in violation of the WP terms of service. I hope that clarifies a bit, and again thank you for any assistance you can offer.

Check with your “Paid host” – many hosts allow a second url on the same account (my old host did and I had two URL’s on the same host account) – then you could move the contents of your WordPress.COM blog to your paid host account and ad away to your hearts content – –

Export / Import are the magic words – you would loose the address here but you can purchase a redirect (sorry forget the name) that would send visitors to your moved URL.

    WordPress.com is free hosting http://mamaslittletreasures.wordpress.com/

This blog Ruby for Women is not free hosted by WordPress.com. It’s a is a self-hosted WordPress blog being web hosted by godaddy

Now I would like to have them both on my paid account under Ruby for Women …

You can export the content out mamaslittletreasures.wordpress.com into an file on your desktop and import it into your existing godaaddy hosted blog if you wish. See here > http://en.support.wordpress.com/moving-a-blog/#moving-to-wordpress-org

Thank you so much for clarifying all of that ;o) So I need to go to my GoDaddy account and move the content from my free WordPress account to my paid hosted account THERE and not at WordPress . . . . and am I correct in understanding that if I have both blogs hosted through my paid GoDaddy account that I can use them correctly for business purposes? I truly appreciate your assistance with all of this!

I’m off to read the info at the links you posted for me ;o)

Are you wanting the personal blog you have here as part of the business blog, or are you wanting it to be “there” but independent? There are several options for you if I can get a little more idea of exactly how you want things.

Hi, hope you don’t mind me jumping in. Sorry I’m not all that tech savvy so I may use the incorrect words. But…, is it possible to connect two WordPress blogs?

For example: one blog share about home decorating. Then, from the home decorating blog, you can click on a page (or widget) and it connects you to a seperate blog that discuss paint color.

You guys are great! Thank you SO much . . . I’m on the phone with GoDaddy right now and they are helping me get my mamas*little*treasures blog under my Ruby for Women account at GoDaddy, then I need to import all of my posts and other information from my current blog into the new one. I think I understand! The other question I have is about how to install Google Analytics on both of my WordPress blogs – is that something you can direct me to an informational page or article? Thanks again, Nina

Hi Mainebrook – don’t mind at all! I learn so much from other people’s questions so thank you for your input ;o) Nina

See the link below for Google Analytics help:

You could also Google Google Analytics and probably end up at their main site.

You should address your questions to WordPress.ORG the keepers of the software you are using: http://wordpress.org/support/
