adding header to posts page only

  • Unknown's avatar

Hi, I would like to be able to add a ‘header’ to my posts page so I can add a blog description that remains at the top of the page constantly with my posts appearing after it.
    How can I do this?
    Thanks

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I need to add a ‘header’ to my posts page so I can add a blog description that remains at the top of the page with my posts appearing after it. I only need it on my posts page and not on any other static pages. Thanks.

    Hi Jenny,

You can stick a post to the top of your posts page, and that sticky post can act like a header there.

To stick a post to the top like that, go to the “Advanced Settings” section in the post editor. Under “Sticky” there, you can click “Stick to the front page” to make that post stay at the top of your list of posts. That way, whatever you write in that post will be stuck to the top of the page.

Please let me know if you have any questions about that. :)

Thanks. I found out about sticky notes yesterday and used one….is there any other way as the sticky note is always highlighted on my site??? Is there a way to have an individual page header on a page?

    Hi Jenny,

The Nishita theme you’re using on your site doesn’t have any other ways to put a description at the top of the page, above your posts, but you could use a Text Widget to add text to the sidebar on that page.

You could add the description so it stays at the top of the sidebar there, with the posts next to it. You can also change the widget visibility so that text widget only appears on your posts page (rather than on every page on the site).

    I hope that helps!
