Hi there,
What is the URL of the image you are trying to add? Please paste it between backticks or click the Code button above the forums text box before and after pasting the link.

Thanks. It’s not possible to upload that image to the media library via URL, no, as that is a Getty image link, not an image file URL – an image file URL would end in a filename extension like .jpg or .jpeg. This is most likely done deliberately by Getty so images cannot be easily copied from their servers onto those of other providers like us.
If you want to use Getty images on your site you need to embed them instead. You can do this by pasting that link directly into a post or a page on a new line. Once you publish the post, it will show that image:

Thanks for your reply,
I know about embedding the image to the post and I can do it successfully, I only want to know, How to use Getty Images as a featured image to my posts. -
Hi @3adel32, featured images have to be upload to your Media Library so that the WordPress and theme software can do the adjustments require for it to work as the featured image. Featured images cannot be hot-linked from other sites.
You can add the image from the featured image panel by clicking down arrow to the right of “Add New” and then putting in the URL of the image and then upload it to your Media Library.
Alternately you could download the image to your computer and then click “Add New” in the featured image module and upload it from your computer.

@thesacredpath Thanks for your answer. I am making this already, I only want to be sure that this way was a legal way with Getty images.

Maybe not related, but you can use the Pexel CC0 free photo library images available in your Media Library as featured images when you write with the MySites Editor. This is available in the browser online as well as in the mobile app: https://en.blog.wordpress.com/2018/05/09/free-photo-library/
Here are more sources of free media: https://en.support.wordpress.com/add-media/finding-free-images-and-other-media/

Hi 3adel32,
I only want to be sure that this way was a legal way with Getty images.
I recommend contacting Getty Images if you specific licensing questions about how or where their images can be used. As our support documentation mentions, these images be embedded but the Getty Image logo and frame cannot be removed without licensing.
