Adding main pages to menu, and adding pages under that menu tab

Just as the subject says, I’ve been struggling with adding pages to any tab. The tab itself on the menu is a page (I can’t seem to be able to change that), but when adding pages to the tabs in the editing section (having assigned the page to a parent page) it does not appear that anything is happening. The same issue persists, where I can view the desired page using keywords in the search bar, but cannot get the correct page to appear when clicking on the menu tab. Please help, navigating this platform is a lot more difficult than I originally thought.

That is a self-hosted WordPress.org site, which we really can’t help with here.
