adding new plugin

    Hello, I am trying to add google analytics to my website but for some reason, the ‘add new’ will not appear when I hover over the plugin tab. I was wondering how I could fix this.

    The site I need help with is [visible only to staff] (email visible only to moderators and staff). It is not hosted by WordPress.com or connected with Jetpack. This site is not linked to my WordPress.com account.

    Are you asking for help with the site at https://inthefloatspace.com?
    Your site is not hosted with WordPress.com. It is a site using the open-source WordPress software (from WordPress.org) and is hosted elsewhere. (Likely at Bluehost)

    Because WordPress.com and WordPress.org are different, we cannot access files or data for sites that are hosted elsewhere, so WordPress.com staff can only assist with sites that are hosted on WordPress.com.

    You can reach out to your host for help with your site. Since they’re hosting your site’s files, they also have access to those files and could also be able to help you here.

    Yes, I am currently using Bluehost to host the site but they do not have any options of adding plugins. I am editing the website on WordPress, which is where I would be adding the plugin. Is there anything else I can do to receive further help because your reply did not help much. Thank you for your time.

  • We are not familiar with how Bluehost has structured their service, so for assistance I recommend contacting them directly for help.

    It’s our understanding that they offer the ability to add plugins, and even mention it in this support article they published. It may be worth checking with a support agent on their end to confirm this is possible. If they do not offer plugins in your case, perhaps you can get their help with the manual method of adding GA they mention in the article linked above.
