Adding Plugin option to toolbar

Hello! I’m new to wordpress, and I’m trying to add different plugins, however I don’t see the PLUGIN option on my left-side toolbar. I’ve looked at lots of different tutorials, but according to those it looks like that should be a standard option. Where can I modify what’s listed on my toolbar?

Plugins are a special feature of self-hosted WordPress.org blogs. It’s not possible to upload or install a plugin for blogs hosted here at WordPress.com.

To clear up any confusion, WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two different entities.

Could you let us know what you’re trying to accomplish? Perhaps we can help you achieve what you’re looking for without installing a plugin. :-)

I wanted to run google analytics on my blog. I wasn’t able to see states/geographic locations and search results in the stats provided in the startup. I saw the widget section, but not where to search for additional widgets beyond what was listed in available. Perhaps you can help me! I’ve been blogger-only for the past 4 years!

    Hi there,

Google Analytics isn’t supported here, but we are considering offering the features you mention in our stats.

As for your second question, you can find a list of widgets we currently support here:
