adding widgets

  hi..
  I tried Googeling it, got nothing
  I want to add widgets to my side bar, but whenever I add then they over-ride the existing content..
  Is there any way to add them while keeping my menus?

  That is because you have not yet added any widgets. Before you’ve added any widgets yourself, you are seeing a theme-generated sample set of widgets so that you can see what it looks like with widgets, and to keep the sidebar from being blank. The first time you add a widget, the sample theme-generated display will disappear.

  Simply go to appearance > widgets and add in the widgets you want to use and arrange them as you choose.

  @thesacredpath – I added, so they delete the sidebar, and deleted them
