Admin access
-
Is there a way I can have a personal wordpress account AND be an admin for another company that has their own wordpress site that’s not connected to mine? I have my own personal wordpress account, no website has been set up. I am also trying to gain admin access to a site for a company that I’m working with. Their site is also on wordpress. The admin for the company has added me as an admin and has sent me the link to sign into their account as an admin but I don’t receive that email.
I don’t have a site with WordPress.com yet

Hi there,
What is the site you are trying to access? Some site administrators use self-hosted WordPress sites, which are sites that you create on a “traditional web host” like Bluehost, GoDaddy, etc.
For those sites, they do use “WordPress” but do not use our specific “WordPress.com” infrastructure, so our login system is not always connected with other WordPress sites. If you can let us know the URL of the site we’re happy to take a closer look.
Thanks for the additional info!

The site she sent me was https://mentors.care/wp-admin/index.php
Thank you for any help you can provide.

Thank you! So https://mentors.care isn’t actually hosted here on our services. But it is possible to connect several sites to our interface through the Jetpack plugin.
You’d still need accounts on each site. But then you’d use each one to connect to your account here, then you’d have a one-interface-to-rule-them-all sort of thing that would make updates and maintenance easier for you. Just be sure to keep your logins secure and 2fa protected if possible.
The admin for the company has added me as an admin and has sent me the link to sign into their account as an admin but I don’t receive that email.
Try searching all of your email, including spam, for this invite. Something like this would work
“in:all wp-admin”
If it’s definitely not there, the hosting company may need to get involved to make sure their mail services are working properly.
I hope this helps! And going forward, here’s the difference between our service and the free software:

Hoping that helps!
