Admin Bar – Menu Items not populated
-
Hi,
I am writing to know if there is a specific reason why the WP admin bar (top) does not have the menu items displayed. For example, “New” and “Edit” are missing.
I suspected that my former theme had to do something with that, but the issue remains after changing to another theme. It is a free WordPress.com plan that I am currently using.
Theme I am using now: Twenty-Twenty One
Plugins: None
No changes to theme or functions.php or CSS.Link to the image showing mostly blank Admin Barhttps://imgur.com/a/5Kb07t0
Any help or understanding will be welcome, and what can I do to bring the menu items back.
Many thanks.

EDIT: I found the “New” link, it is “Write” to the far-right, in the updated version, but no “Edit” option, still.

Hello there,
The admin bar described above is what’s present on self-hosted WordPress, rather than WordPress.com. There’s more on the differences here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
It’s possible to have this WP Admin bar, but the site would need to be on the business plan in order to enable that.

Hey,
Thanks for your response and information.
I do have another site that is on a business plan. How do I bring back the menu items of that Admin Bar? Any help is much appreciated.
Thank you.

Hello there,
That can be enabled on request via: https://wordpress.com/help/contact for sites on the business plan.
