Admin Login Page Gone/Redirectory Failing

I’ll try my best to explain this but basically my website started out years ago under a different URL, it was temporarily under laurenwalters.com/project3 while I built it. Then when I bought the domain, I transferred it over (I thought). Since then whenever I would log into admin, it would change the URL to the old one and all of the media would also go under project 3. I couldn’t change the theme or anything after that, it would crash my website. I tried changing this by finding under general settings the ‘WordPress Address (URL)’ listed as the old url, so I changed it to the current URL and now I can’t log into admin at all. I tried replacing all the files with backups, in both the old project3 folder and the newer domain spot on my hosting, nothing has worked. When I go on my site and click the ‘About’ page, it switched to the about on my original portfolio website. I need to be able to log into the wordpress for this website, and then once that’s complete – figure out how to finally have everything transferred to the correct domain folder.
