  I see the ads on the web but I also see the code on the web

  You can’t put code for Google Adsense on your site as the html code you can use on a free site is very limited – https://wordpress.com/support/wordpress-editor/blocks/custom-html-block/#supported-html-tags

  Also putting ads yourself on a free wordpress.com site isn’t allowed according to our TOS.
