Adsense code disappears when adding in code

  I just upgraded my wordpress.com using wordpress’s upgrade. I am assuming this is wordpress.org. Is adsense allowed on wordpress.org? Why is that my adsense code disappears?

  Is there a step I am missing – do i need to install the wordpress software?

  If you require other advertising, you might be interested in a self-hosted (WordPress.org) installation. There are no restrictions on advertising if you setup a self-hosted WordPress.org blog instead of a WordPress.com blog, but there are some added responsibilities.
