Advanced Text Formatting

    Hello,

    My question is relatively simple, but I’ve searched the help pages and forums and never seen anything that helps. Basically, I want to be able to format my text correctly on the page. I’ve tried pasting through the “Paste from Word” Button but it doesn’t help much; one time I used an html converter and got a decent result, but still extremely flawed. Using word or text or html converters has NOT solved the problems; I’ve read on this website and googled a few things too; no help.

    Problem 1: No matter what I do, I can’t get the indents to paste; I have to insert them manually, and even then there are errors (for example sometimes I DON”T want an indent but it adds it).
    Problem 2: I am really having trouble getting regular single-spacing; I write stories with dialogue and it looks TERRIBLE with double-spacing, like six lines on an entire webpage, in small print.

    I would seriously be willing to pay money to solve these problems; I thought of switching to CSS but I can’t program for garbage.

    The first story (eight ways to sell a chainsaw) I’ve managed to ALMOST format; at least it’s single-spaced; this was done with an html convertor (click to convert) but the result is pretty poor. For the four bottom headings (Philosophical/Scam through Special Effects) I can’t even take away the indent. If possible, I would like to be able to edit the size of the indent. But seriously, just being able to paste indents and maybe some basic line-break settings; that’s all I’m asking for. Possible?

    Any help would be majorly appreciated.

    Please, PLEASE never paste from Word, even using the button. It still is associated with problems, and as you can see, it doesn’t work.

    Panos is the king of formatting at WP.com, but in general, it’s not set up to allow the user to control the formatting; they want the users to just focus on putting in the content to a theme they like.
