  Can you please let me know if I can accept advertising on my blog. I’ve read the following:
  “We have a feature called WordAds that lets WordPress.com bloggers with good amounts of traffic and appropriate content turn on ads and earn money from their blogs.
  You can run any ads you’d like if you manage your own WordPress installation. More info, including hosting recommendations, can be found at get.wp.com.
  VIP blogs are permitted to run ads.”

  I host through Godaddy.com. Does that qualify as “manage your own wordpress installation” ?

  Ok. Thanks. I’ll have to check on that since I thought I was hosted at GoDaddy.

  If I do host with GoDaddy at a later date, can I advertise on my own without applying for WordAds?

  I want to stick with wordpress.com because you guys are awesome. I’m just trying to figure out the best way to accept advertisements and maintain control of what I advertise on my site.

  There are no restrictions on advertising if you run your own self-hosted blog.
