Adverts

Adverts have started appearing on my blog. The don’t appear on my homepage when you scroll down but if you click on a blog post there is an ad at the bottom of each post. I need to know if these have been added by you or whether my account has been hacked. If they have been added by wordpress I’m not particularly impressed. I have seen through looking into it that you offer a ‘no ads upgrade’ however I don’t feel that this is made clear at all when you sign up. My blog is now starting to take off and pick up a decent amount of traffic and at this stage you begin adding adverts? I won’t be paying for an upgrade and if this is the case I will be looking to export my blog over to another supplier which will be a real shame as I have sung the praises of wordpress to many many other photographers and have always found you by far and away the best provider.

If you could get back to me as soon as possible and either remove the adverts or let me know what I need to do to remove them myself – without paying it would be much appreciated.

    Many Thanks

To support the service (and keep free features free), we do sometimes run advertisements. We try hard to make the ads discreet and effective and only run them in limited places. If you would like to completely eliminate ads from appearing on your blog, we offer the No-Ads Upgrade.

There are no restrictions if you setup a self-hosted WordPress.org blog instead of a WordPress.com blog, but there are some added responsibilities. We have hosting recommendations at the following link if you are interested.

    Sorry for the inconvenience.
