Adverts on a blog page
-
I am very happy to have ads on my blog page but, to have an ad for a funeral home on a post about happy summer days is a bit off. Is there any way to filter the type of ad that appears?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
This definitely sounds jarring, but there is no way to control which ads show on your site, and in fact the content of your posts have nothing to do with which ads are displayed.
What does control which ads display is the location and browser history (among other factors) of the person viewing your site. So if you perhaps recently viewed a funeral home’s website, you can expect to see ads for that business (or if you had location tracking active on your Android phone and recently drove past the funeral home. Yes, it’s incredibly creepy but that’s just the world we live in these days). Or if you searched Google for airline ticket prices you will see ads from travel agencies and airlines, etc.
Or if you use a privacy extension like PrivacyBadger in your browser, only ever use incognito mode, or just block tracking cookies in general (to try and counter the creepiness I mentioned above), ads that are shown to you are likely to be completely random.
On your latest post I’m seeing ads for accounting software for some unfathomable reason.
I hope this helps explain things a bit, but let me know if you have any more questions.
