Affiliate Links on WordPress.com

    I’m starting a home school blog in connection with my Facebook group that has grown beyond 3,500 in membership. I just got it launched tonight. I’ve been asked if I’d like to put an ad in the side bar for a trusted homeschooling website. This is not a banner ad or a third-party thing. They would simply give me the code to plug in to the sidebar. Is this acceptable? I wanted to be sure before I invest much more time. Someone suggested switching to Blogger…but I looked at it and and r-e-a-l-l-y don’t want to switch! I have used WordPress for years, and this is all comfy and like home to me! Please advise.

    Blogger-initiated ads are not allowed, period.

    From the attached link: “While most affiliate links are allowed on WordPress.com, we do not allow banner image ads or third-party advertising networks like Google AdSense, OpenX, Lijit, BuySellAds, and Vibrant Media.”
