Akismet signup problems

  I am very confused – it appears things have changed in the last couple years

  Note: I am aware that I am asking this on wordpress.com help forums. This is the ONLY place I have found that I can get any help at all! Everything seems to redirect me here!

  I have my own server hellfirefarm.com and I want to install Akismet, pro plan. When I select Pro I get redirected to wordpress.com on a checkout page that says my cart is empty and gives multiple messages “You do not have permission to access this resource.”

  Following the directions on https://akismet.com/support/getting-started/activate/ leads me to the same place.

  So how do I get Akismet on my self-hosted site?
