All my custom widgits disappeared today
-
Disaster! Had loads of custom widgits, many buttons and carousels for photos, all completely disappeared, site is now a total mess. Host have restored but that was only content, hasn’t made any difference. Please help. I am the administrator but other teachers go on with Editor permission to write their class pages. Have read viewing other themes may have done this so one of them may have done so, but I haven’t installed anything new or made drastic changes today. Widgits are not lodged in “Inactive” but weird thing is if I try and install one of the missing Plugins it says it’s already there but I can’t see it – brackets show copy of message when I try to install:
(Installing Plugin from uploaded file: shortcodes-ultimate.zip
Unpacking the package…Installing the plugin…
Destination folder already exists. /var/sites/s/stjamesschoolbermondsey.com/public_html/wp-content/plugins/shortcodes-ultimate/
Plugin install failed.
Grateful for any advice, weeks of work lost for no apparent reason – AAgggh!

I’m sorry to hear that you are having trouble. However, it sounds like you are working on a self-hosted WordPress.org blog, which we really can’t help with.
To clear up any confusion, WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two different entities: http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
WordPress.org has complete documentation and support sites for self-hosted/installed versions of WordPress.org at http://codex.wordpress.org/ and http://wordpress.org/support/
