Already have a sit and domæne at a different provider

    I already have a site at a different provider, but want to keep it running while I make a new one in wordpress. Not sure to yhink off: Manage some domain settings at your current provider and some at WordPress.com Requires changes to the domain’s DNS??? What does that actually means? Regards Jeanette

    Hi Jeanette,

    If you want to keep your old site running while you build the new one, you don’t have to worry about those domain options at all, yet.

    Instead, create your site using the free WordPress.com address we provide for all new sites. Then you only move the domain to us once you’re ready to actually make the switch.

    At that point you’ll have two options: transfer the domain to us completely, so you pay us for its renewal going forward, or leave it at your current provider while only pointing it to us.
