Alternative for a child theme on wordpress.com
-
Hello,
I’m working on the following wordpress.com blog:
http://womenpoliticalprisoners.wordpress.comusername: shahrzadmojab
My Problem: I have to make some changes in the CSS and PHP files to customize the theme/ specific pages. On a self hosted blog I would install a child theme and make those adjustments there, whithout changing the theme files of the original theme. I didn’t find a way to do this on a wordpress.com blog like the one I’m working on. I definitley want to avoid that my changes would be erased by an theme update or any other such process, therefore I’m reluctant to just modify the CSS file of the theme in the CSS editor or changing the html code of a specific site with the “edit” function. Is there a way for a wordpress.com site to make those changes sustainable?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

What you are looking to do isn’t going to be possible on WordPress.com. You may need to consider migrating to a self hosted WordPress site if this is something that is crucial to your site design.
