Am I at the right site?

    I have an existing website and wish to eventually move to WordPress as my content manager. But until I seriously transfer my website (which was built using iWeb), I hoped to download/upload a free local version of WordPress on my home computer to learn that way. (The learning curve with me is better if I take my own time. I don’t want to commit or rush). Is this the right place? I thought I had clicked on WordPress.org but now it seems I’m on WordPress.com Can you help?

    WordPress.com is a managed hosting environment. Using the open source WordPress.org software is entirely different. See here:

    There’s an entire community network available for assistance with WordPress.org though. You need to create an account there and use those forums at https://wordpress.org/support/forums/
