Amazon Affiliate Link Issues

  I’m trying to put Amazon Affiliate links in my blog. They lead to an error message on my own blog every time I try to click on it. (404 website not found) I looked at the detailed step by step instructions WordPress provided to a T. No success. I called Amazon Associates customer service help twice and got advice from two separate people, neither of which worked. HELP. What am I doing wrong?
