Anonymous writing?

  Is it possible to remove author attribution from posts? I’d like to write anonymously and my current username is basically the same as my name. Is it possible to remove the author name? Or should I open a whole new WordPress account with an anonymous email address if I want to remain anonymous?

  Some themes show the author attribution, and some don’t.

  In this case, I’d recommend changing your username: https://en.support.wordpress.com/change-your-username/

  Thanks. It appears that in order to have no connection to my existing email I’ll need to create a new account. I can change my display name and my username but it’s still pretty easy, as far as I can tell, to figure out who the site belongs to.

  We don’t reveal the email anywhere that your visitors would see it, but if you commented as the username on someone else’s site, they will be able to see your email address, yes.

  So to maximise anonymity, a separate account is the safest option.
