Anything to know before/dangers exporting XML files?

  Hey everyone,

  I’m transferring my site so Squarespace, so going to do an export of my site. I’m wondering if there’re any best practices to know before hand. Does exporting in any way impact my current WordPress site, or does it just duplicate the content for export?

  I don’t want to impact my current site yet, as I’m still building the Squarespace. Want to be sure exporting files won’t delete anything from my current site.

  Hi Oshan –

  Creating an export of your site just makes a duplicate file for you. It will not affect the live site in any way.
