App Log-in Not Working
-
Each time I attempt to sign onto the WordPress or Jetpack app with my password, as soon as I submit the password it redirects to a page that requires an email link sign in. Once I click the link and sign in from my phone (which opens in my browser), the app does not refresh to sign in. This is a never ending cycle of trying to sign in to the apps, and the AI chatbot is going in circles telling me I need to “recover my account”. PLEASE. I know my password, I’ve reset my password, but the apps are broken with a broken AI Slop bot.
If a company is going to use AI support, maybe they should make sure the slop is trained properly.

Hello @ariadnabates,
That sounds genuinely exhausting, and I completely understand why you’re fed up. Being redirected in a loop when you already know your password is the last thing anyone wants to deal with, and your feedback about the AI support experience is noted and appreciated.
Here’s what’s likely happening: when a login link is used, it can become the default sign-in method for your account. So even though your password is valid, the app keeps pushing you toward the link flow. The good news is, this is fixable. Here are the steps to reset that default:
- Start by signing in through your browser (not the app) using a login link. You can request one following the steps here: https://wordpress.com/support/login-link/#request-a-login-link
- Once you’re in, change your password by following the steps here: https://wordpress.com/support/passwords/#change-your-password
- After that, clear your browser’s cookies and cache: https://wordpress.com/support/browser-issues/#clear-your-browser-cache
- Now, go back to the WordPress.com login page in your browser (again, not the app) and sign in with your password. At this point, the login link will still be available as an option, but it will no longer be set as your default.
Once you’ve successfully logged in via the browser with your password, try signing into the mobile app again and let me know if that works.
If you’re still running into issues after these steps, I’m right here to dig into this further with you!
