App sends user to browser to sign in. Sign in does not take effect in app

  So I DL’d Studio to develop my site locally. It seem to work fine, however when trying to access features like assistant, it prompts for sign in. I click the prompt (or the sign in button at the top, or any sign in button in app) and I’m sent to the browser where I met with a login page. Once I enter my creds the webpage shows me as logged in but it doesn’t update the app.
