Applying API Key to Google Map

  I have selected to put a google map on the word press site. I put it in and then it tells when I am looking at the site that it is not working (because I don’t have an API key) – so I went to google and got an API key, but now I don’t know how to apply that key back to my wordpress site. Thanks for the help.
