Are there tutorials to help transition from wysiwyg and Front Page to WordPress

    Are there tutorials to help transition from wysiwyg, or what you see is what you get, and Front Page to WordPress? I am used to being able to have complete freedom to quickly insert boxes where I want change font size style and color wherever I want and to whatever I want, putting videos wherever I want Etc but I waste all kinds of time trying to figure these things out in WordPress. Is there a tutorial that would help with this transition or even better yet maybe WordPress would consider transitioning away from constraining themes and templates to allowing more freedom? That would make me use the program so much more.
