Are we allowed to do a book review and link to author's website in a post?

  Am I allowed to do a book review and link to the author’s website within a post that I write on my blog?

  If I write a book review, am I allowed to insert a link in the body of the post to said author’s blog or website if they’re not on wordpress.com or wordpress.org?

  Or am I only allowed to only mention the name of the book and author?

  Yes you can link to the author’s site. No it does not have to be a wordpress.com site. It can be any site.
