As a ‘collaborator’ do I have access to the admin panel?

As a ‘collaborator’ do I have access to the admin panel? Or does the main admin have to change some settings to allow me access to allow me to build the site?

The site I need help with is davidy8.sg-host.com. It is not hosted by WordPress.com or connected with Jetpack. This site is not linked to my WordPress.com account.

    Hi there,

Your site is not hosted with WordPress.com. It is a site using the open-source WordPress software (from WordPress.org) and is hosted elsewhere.

Because WordPress.com and WordPress.org are different, we cannot access files or data for sites that are hosted elsewhere, so WordPress.com staff can only assist with sites that are hosted on WordPress.com.

You can find more information here about the differences between WordPress.org software and WordPress.com: https://wordpress.com/support/com-vs-org/

You can reach out to your host for help with your site. Since they’re hosting your site’s files, they also have access to those files and could also be able to help you here.

The WordPress.org forums are also a great resource for sites using the open source WordPress.org software, and you can find support for that at: https://wordpress.org/support/forum/how-to-and-troubleshooting

WordPress sites do not come with a role called “Collaborator” so if you have that role, it must have come from a plugin, in which case, you’d also want to contact the plugin support for assistance.
