    Hi there,

If you see “unknown search terms” in the Search Engine Terms section of your stats, that’s because the search engines encrypted the searches so WordPress.com is unable to access that information.

However, you can use Google Webmaster Tools to get information from Google about what people search to end up on your site. We have a guide for setting up Webmaster Tools you can use to set that up on your site.

The guide specifically says you can’t install google analytics on a wordpress site.??? Google analytics is the tool that gives you the search engine words that have been used to find your site.

I would just like as much statistic/analytic info as I can for my site, I don’t really care where it comes from (so long as it is accurate) so are you able to suggest a way around this problem?
    thanks,
    sally

    Hi Sally,

WordPress.com doesn’t support Google Analytics, but as I mentioned Google’s Webmaster Tools does offer information about search engine terms used to find your site. You can set that up to get access to that information if you’re interested in it.
