ASAP – Fatal Error, Recovery Mode not loading

  • Unknown's avatar

I have administrative privileges for WorkingPeoplesPlatform.org but cannot access the host. I made a change to a child theme without realizing it was active, that change caused the whole thing to crash. When I follow the link in the email, I receive this message:
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘]’, expecting end of file in /home/customer/www/workingpeoplesplatform.org/public_html/wp-content/themes/seiucolorado-theme-1-child/lib/setup.php on line 56

When I try in incognito mode, I receive a message saying Recovery Mode not initialized. I’ve tried going to my domain/wp-admin, but that isn’t working either.

Might be worth noting the domain I’m working with is a paid account of some kind (not sure which one).

  • Hi there,

The site WorkingPeoplesPlatform.org appears to be a self-hosted WordPress (also called “.org”) site hosted on Siteground Web Hosting, and not a site hosted on our WordPress.com service.

    You can confirm here: https://gwhois.org/WorkingPeoplesPlatform.org+dns

To clarify, we are not the only providers of WordPress sites, and Siteground also happens to offer WordPress sites, but they use a different version of the platform than what we use here. Because of this we are not able to help with your issue as it lies outside of our system. See http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/ for more info.

You can find support for your self-hosted WordPress site here: https://wordpress.org/support/forums/

You may also wish to contact your host’s support team for more assistance.

Hope that points you in the right direction!
