Assigning posts to categories

Every post I create I add it to an existing category on my website before I publish. However, when I click on the category tab at the top of the page in order to access that post, no posts are available. Instead the only way to access posts is through the Home page tab. What am I doing wrong in assigning posts to categories and how do I fix this problem?

Are you speaking of https://dearmaia.com/? I don’t see any category pages added to the menu on that site. You have a “About Me” category, but the “About Me” that appears in your menu is a static page, not a category, so it won’t show posts from that category as well.
To create a category page, you need to add the category itself directly to the site menu.
That said, your site is not hosted on WordPress.com, but using the open source WordPress.org software at another hosting provider. We’re only able to help with sites hosted on our servers at WordPress.com.
Please ask the WordPress.org community for more help with this. They provide support for the version of WordPress you’re using:
