  Yes, you can set up a blog or a website — it doesn’t matter. In order to attach your domain to the WordPress.com account you’ll need the personal plan upgrade. Those details are at https://wordpress.com/plans/

  Once you’ve added the plan you can connect the domain. There are 2 different options to do that.

  1. Mapping – https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-existing-domain/
  2. Transfer – https://en.support.wordpress.com/incoming-domain-transfer/
