Audio file not found

I uploaded an MP3 file to Media Library, and when ponting my browser to its URL its play well. from my page ‘a-trip-to-spain’ (http://joezameres.wordpress.com/a-trip-to-spain/) I loaded the file, according to your support (Anthony) instruction with the syntax [audio http://file-url-you-copied-goes-here.mp3%5D. now the player is there, but it doesn’t find the file…

We need a link to the audio file please. From looking at your source code, this is the URL, http://joezameres.files.wordpress.com/gallorojo1.mp3/ , and that file does not exist.

Go to your media library, click the “show” link for the file, copy the URL from near the bottom of that window and post it here in the forums.

@tsp: That URL plays fine.

@carolynyair: You probably pasted the shorcode in the visual editor, and the URL became a live link, which won’t work. Delete it and paste it again in the html editor.

And please paste the exact URL of your blog when asking questions here, or link your nickname to your blog (as explained in the Sticky 8 Things to Know Before Posting). Helps us help you.

It doesn’t for me. The audio file is “file not found” and when I click on the audio player button in that post, I get file not found.

404 — File not found.

Oops! Sorry to both on the blog link: I was rather absent-minded apparently, and confused this thread with another.

But the mp3 plays fine. Like I said, absent-minded: the correct URL is

Yeh guys, I now did it thru HTML, not visual, and it play. I’m still wondering why ‘upload from computer’ didn’t work…
I have another question, how can I make the song run automatically when the user open a page. a plugin?

“Uploading from computer” did work: it created a copy of your mp3 in your media library, and the proper URL for it. To get the audio player, you still need to add the shortcode for it manually.

You cannot make the wp audio player auto-start, and you cannot use plugins in wp.COM.
