August 8 Smiley face

I wrote something yesterday with the date August 8 in parentheses. Instead of “…to August 8)” the posted blog read “…August [smiley face w/ sunglasses]”. I edited it out by changing “August 8” to “early August”. Weird.

This also created a secondary problem: when I resent the blog this morning as a draft to see if I could recreate the problem, I obliterated yesterday’s blog posting by virtue of re-sending – even as a draft. Tertiary problem: when I re-post the missing blog, the email notification goes out again, pointing to essentially the same posting I sent out the previous day.

The real issue then is: is it possible to re-send a draft without obliterating the prior posting?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

No, not as far as I know.

To disable smilies, that’s under Settings->Writing, I believe.

Is it possible then to repost an obliterated blog entry without sending out email notifications again?

When you create a new post it goes out on the RSS feed.
