Auth Info Code after tariff cancellation

    Hello,

    I have the following problem. A former employee hosted our website in WordPress and bought a domain (ruhrwestconsulting.com). Now it has been decided recently to move the site to a different webhoster.

    Meanwhile, the tariff has been downgraded to free in WP and I have therefore no chance to apply for an AuthInfo Code.

    Is there a way to do that afterwards? We would like to keep the domain, just on another webhoster.

    I’ll be happy to contact the registrar to see if we can restore ruhrwestconsulting.com to your account, but I cannot guarantee that we will be able to get the domain back. If I am successful, I can send you a manual payment request form for you to repurchase the domain. Then you can transfer the domain.

    Hey there,

    I contacted our registrar and ruhrwestconsulting.com is now in a redemption period. You can still renew your domain through us, but it is now a more expensive and complicated process to do so. Our registrar charges an $80 late renewal fee in addition to the $26 we charge to renew the domain. The good news is that this is still a chance of reclaiming the domain through this option.

    Your other option is to wait until the redemption period is over so that the domain becomes available for registration again. Domains are usually in redemption for approximately 80 days, but with this option, you run
    the risk of someone else jumping in front of you to purchase the domain before you get the chance.

    Please let me know if you want to proceed with paying the late renewal fee in the attempt to reclaim the domain name. This option is also time sensitive because the domain can be auctioned off to an expired domain bidder.

    I would suggest enabling the auto-renew option so that you will not have to worry about losing control over your domain in the future.
