Autorenewal and Accounts

I am under dispute for an autorenewal that I did not authorize. I was told that the blog sites are free. My site J—-ine.com autorenewed for $96 which I was told was free. Also I have a site drjaimept.wordpress.com, which did not renew. I am not sure if this is a paid site or not? If its free then why did it not renew?
Please help me figure out this conflict and also as well help me find which site is free to use without an expensive autorenew.
