Availability of domain cancelled after less than 24 hours

    Hi,

    I cancelled a WP.com domain less than 24 hours after buying it. My plans for the website changed and I didn’t want to move over to a new host yet. From research it seemed a domain name cancelled so quickly would become available again within days. I just want to check if this will happen? I do want to try secure this URL again in future.

    Hi there,

    Cancelled domains are not released immediately, and it can take anything from a few days to over a year before a cancelled domain becomes available again, if at all. You should never cancel a domain that you still want to use, as there’s no guarantee that you’ll be able to use it again somewhere else in future.

    In this case, annmarieashe.com, should become available again within a few days, but we cannot guarantee that, nor can we guarantee that you’ll be able to register it somewhere else when it does.
