Backing Up a WordPress Site

  We are currently trying to add Google Analytics to WordPress without a plugin. So we are trying to create a backup of our website, but are not sure how to do this and are wondering if this is something WordPress does for free or if we could get help with? If this is not possible, we are wondering if WordPress could copy and paste our tracking code in for us or assist us in these steps?
