Bad website exposure, I feel.

    I went to do a search of my new website on Google, on the page that came up was Cutestat.com with all the info that, I believe, should be kept secret about my website. I feel that no one should be able to see such a detailed record of my site and its inception. I know that this is a third party site; but, shouldn’t the site owner have to right to decide the exposure of our site?

    What site are you speaking of? The WordPress.com account you used to post here is less than a day old, and doesn’t own any sites with us. In this forum we can only help with sites hosted on WordPress.com.

    If you publish content on the internet on a public URL, search engines will be able to see it, and will display it in their indexes according to their rules. The only point where you have control is regarding what information you choose to add to your site, and which pages you choose to make visible to search engines.

    Most SEO plugins include ways for you to modify the meta data about your site, and to add rules to your robots.txt file to block certain pages from search engines. Please contact support for whatever SEO plugin you’re using on your site for help using the tools they have available in this regard.
