Baidu Spider Problem

  • Unknown's avatar

First off, my website is a wordpress.com hosted site. According to https://wordpress.com/support/stats/, search engine spiders are not included in our traffic stats. However, I keep seeing Baidu as a referrer nearly on a daily basis, sometimes upwards of 7 times a day. I’m almost positive that it’s a spider causing the visits, not a person. I’ve updated my robots.txt file to disallow that traffic but it ignores it. And because it’s an official referrer, I cannot mark it as a spam referrer as outlined on that same support page. It is not valid traffic and should not be showing up in my reports.

How can I get Baidu removed from my stats?
