basic no comment no email settings

    I just want a basic blog where I can post some information but no comments and no email
    and I thought I clicked all correct clicks but everytime I go to my site it says ‘home’ and ‘contact’ and if I click on those it gives my email and comment section—can you give me step by step how to dismantle all comments and all email (I have gone to–my site–settings–discussion–default article settings–placed the toggle switch to the left/grey color /off on the –allow people to post comments on new articles and then clicked–save settings—but nothing changes) what do you suggest,Thankyou
